I’m a Panamanian American Artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York.
My mixed media oil paintings deconstruct connections between people and spaces within the context of my personal relationships and experiences. Influenced by the Cubist and Fauvist movements with hints of surrealism, my work is comprised of fragmented layers, bold colors and textures, distinct patterns, and distorted perspectives. These components rebuild distant memories and emotive experiences into a visual composite that allows for viewers to derive new meaning from the original inspiration. Drawing on the past to fuel the current moment, my works strives to be timeless while simultaneously giving clues about the era in which the pieces were made by incorporating elements of modern fashion trends, technology and the ever present use of smartphones.
Quick and dirty version: I make portraits of people and environments from multiple points of view using a variety of techniques.
